About this role
Facility Optimization Solutions, a CannonDesign subsidiary, is hiring an Electrical Assessor II to evaluate the condition of electrical and low-voltage systems across healthcare, education, sports, municipal, and commercial buildings nationwide. Based remotely with preference for candidates near Buffalo, Houston, Denver, or Chicago, you'll conduct on-site assessments as part of a multidisciplinary team, walking 125,000 to 250,000 square feet daily to document system conditions, identify deficiencies, estimate remaining useful life, and recommend remedial measures. Projects typically last one to six months with field deployments averaging one week, occurring no more than twice monthly.
The ideal candidate has at least four years of related experience—ideally as a Journeyman or Master Electrician, Maintenance Electrician, or Instrumentational and Electrical Technician—with direct facility condition assessment experience and background in healthcare or educational institutions preferred. You'll need strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and comfort with mobile devices and tablets; experience with Deltek Vision, Adobe Suite, and Bluebeam is valued. The role requires willingness to travel up to 40 percent and the physical ability to climb ladders, walk on roofs, and sustain daily walking distances.
CannonDesign offers a hybrid work model, competitive benefits including generous paid time off, a 401k plan, and medical, dental, and vision coverage. The salary range is $57,600 to $79,200 annually, with eligibility for discretionary bonuses. This contract position suits someone who prefers field work and travel over desk-based assignments and wants to grow within a growing, established firm.
