About this role
Leading technical delivery on complex architectural projects at CannonDesign's St. Louis office, this contract role places you at the center of multi-disciplinary design teams. You'll own the architectural vision and detailing, coordinate with engineers and consultants, manage site observations, and shepherd projects from concept through construction while keeping clients informed and aligned. The position demands someone who can move fluidly between design leadership, team management, and client relations—presenting ideas compellingly, delegating effectively, and holding teams accountable to quality standards.
This is a senior-level role suited to licensed architects with at least eight years of experience who combine technical depth with business judgment. You'll need fluency in Revit, Bluebeam, Enscape, and Adobe tools, along with a solid grasp of building codes and sustainable design integration. Beyond technical chops, the role calls for critical thinking, strong communication, and the ability to mentor junior staff while driving continuous improvement and innovation within project teams.
The work is in-office in St. Louis and contract-based. CannonDesign emphasizes client adoration over mere satisfaction, transparency in communication, and a commitment to equity and inclusion across the firm.
