About this role

Pulse Healthcare is recruiting a Mental Health HCA to work with patients enrolled in a drug trial for schizophrenia. You'll be part of a clinical team providing direct patient support, from initial stabilization and monitoring through to assisting with assessments and medication administration under physician direction. The role demands calm judgment, quick decision-making, and genuine empathy—you'll document patient progress carefully and adapt your approach based on individual needs.

You'll need at least six months of recent mental health experience and a current DBS check (Pulse can help arrange this if needed). The position offers both day and night shifts on a part-time basis, with pay ranging from £14.57 to £27.87 per hour depending on banding, paid weekly. Beyond the base rate, you get access to a dedicated consultant for support and a £500 referral bonus if you recommend other healthcare professionals to Pulse.

This is a placement role through a specialist recruitment agency, so you'll have a consultant supporting your placement from the start. The work is in-office in Richmond, and Pulse emphasizes flexibility and treating you as an individual professional rather than simply filling a vacancy.
