About Hillel International
In 1923, Rabbi Benjamin Frankel started Hillel with humble means, a noble mission and a breathtaking vision: to convey Jewish civilization to a new generation. Today, Hillel International continues to enrich the lives of Jewish students and is the largest Jewish campus organization in the world at nearly 1,000 colleges and universities across North America and around the world. As Hillel evolves as an organization, the mission remains steadfast: to create lasting connections with every Jewish student that foster an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning, and Israel and train them to become the next Jewish leaders.
Hillel is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an accepting and inclusive environment for all.
About this role
This dual-role position splits your time between community event management at the Trager Family Jewish Community Center and student engagement work with University of Louisville Hillel. You'll spend roughly 28 hours weekly planning and executing diverse programming—from recreational and cultural events to supporting active adult initiatives and the Louisville Jewish Film Festival—while dedicating 12 hours to building Jewish life on campus through roughly two student programs monthly. The work involves the full lifecycle of event management: logistics, volunteer coordination, marketing collaboration, and space rental support, alongside relationship-building with both community members and student leaders.
The role calls for someone with event planning or program management experience who can comfortably navigate two distinct audiences—seniors through college students—and balance competing priorities. You'll need strong organizational skills, comfort with Microsoft Office and social media, and genuine familiarity with Jewish culture and community. Evening and weekend flexibility is expected, including occasional Shabbat programming. This is a full-time in-office position based primarily at the JCC with regular time at the university's Interfaith Center, offered as a volunteer role through Jewish Louisville.
