Description
Gates Hudson, a full-service property management company, is seeking a Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting tax credit communities by ensuring regulatory compliance, providing training to onsite teams, and maintaining accurate documentation across properties.
The ideal candidate has strong LIHTC experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively while upholding compliance standards.
What You’ll Do
Compliance & Auditing
Ensure ongoing compliance with LIHTC, Fair Housing, ADA, and landlord/tenant regulations
Review leasing files, notices to vacate, and documentation for accuracy and compliance
Conduct move-in and move-out inspections as needed
Identify compliance issues and work with onsite teams to resolve them
Training & Support
Conduct ongoing training for onsite staff, including Fair Housing, leasing paperwork, Yardi, accounts receivable, Nexus accounts payable, workplace safety, and other operational topics
Serve as a resource for onsite teams regarding compliance-related questions
Resident & Vendor Coordination
Address resident concerns and requests in a timely and professional manner
Communicate with vendors and contractors regarding scheduling, billing, vendor relations, and certificates of insurance
Operational Support
Assist with touring prospects and handling inquiries as needed
Consistently implement and reinforce community policies
Perform additional duties as assigned
Schedule Expectations
Some weekend work may be required
What We’re Looking For
Required
Three to five years of experience with tax credit or LIHTC communities
One to two years of leasing or onsite property management experience
Strong working knowledge of Fair Housing, ADA, and landlord/tenant laws
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong customer service background
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred
LIHTC certification
Experience with Yardi, Nexus, or similar systems
