About this role

Centurion, an Atwell company, is looking for a Senior Field Technician to lead testing, inspection, and commissioning work on electrical equipment in substations and data centers throughout the Pacific Northwest, primarily Oregon. You'll spend four to five weeks on-site followed by a week off, managing both hands-on technical work and mentoring entry- to mid-level technicians through formal training and on-the-job guidance. The role requires you to perform visual, mechanical, and electrical testing on protective relays, meter calibrations, and power quality systems while also coordinating with project managers on scheduling, budgeting, and scope management.

This position suits someone with at least seven years of electrical field experience who can work independently yet take responsibility for developing others. You'll need strong documentation skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and clear communication abilities to flag issues and recommend solutions to clients. NETA certification is highly preferred. The work demands attention to detail—from maintaining and calibrating test equipment to reviewing final reports before submittal—and the ability to recognize when contracted work exceeds scope and initiate change orders accordingly.

Atwell offers competitive compensation ranging from $40 to $75 per hour, along with a robust benefits package including 401(k) matching, paid time off, tuition assistance, paid licensing fees, medical/dental/vision coverage, and wellness reimbursement. The company has been recognized as a best place to work for ten consecutive years and ranks among the fastest-growing design firms in the country.
