About this role
CannonDesign is seeking a Project Designer IV to take on senior-level design leadership across multiple projects in their St. Louis office. You'll move beyond individual contributor work to shape design direction, lead client presentations, and mentor emerging professionals while remaining hands-on with schematic design and design development. This role bridges conceptual thinking and execution—synthesizing client goals into built solutions while coordinating across disciplines including interior design, engineering, and building performance teams.
The position demands at least eight years of professional experience and a strong technical toolkit: fluency in Revit, Bluebeam, and 3D rendering software (Enscape, Twinmotion, or V-Ray), plus Adobe Creative Cloud for visualization work. You'll need a degree in architecture or a related field, working knowledge of building codes and materials, and the ability to translate design intent through all project phases into construction administration. Architectural registration and LEED accreditation are preferred but not required.
This is a contract role requiring in-office presence in St. Louis. It suits someone ready to step into a mentorship and leadership capacity while maintaining direct involvement in design work—particularly if you're skilled at both creating compelling visual presentations and collaborating across technical disciplines to integrate sustainable and performance-based strategies into large-scale projects.
