About this role
Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Social Worker for a Referral and Assessment team based in Richmond, Virginia. You'll be the first point of contact for child welfare concerns, screening referrals from professionals, families, and the public, then conducting initial assessments to determine risk levels and eligibility for services. The role involves deciding whether cases warrant intervention under child protection or child-in-need frameworks, conducting home visits and interviews, and coordinating with police, schools, health services, and other agencies to build a complete picture before making recommendations.
This is frontline child protection work that demands strong judgment and thorough documentation. You'll need Social Work England registration, post-qualified experience, a degree in Social Work or equivalent, and a full UK driving licence. The position requires you to be eligible to work in the UK and able to escalate cases appropriately when child protection concerns emerge.
