About this role
Olsson is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design and delivery of complex projects for major technology companies and mission-critical data center clients. In this role, you'll own mechanical engineering efforts from concept through construction documents, performing detailed calculations, developing technical reports, and coordinating across disciplines to ensure projects meet tight timelines and quality standards. You'll also mentor junior engineers and collaborate with Olsson's broader teams and external stakeholders to solve large-scale infrastructure challenges where reliability and precision are non-negotiable.
This position requires 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience, a PE license, and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Revit proficiency is essential. Data center industry experience is preferred, particularly in environments where system reliability is critical. Beyond technical depth, you should have project leadership or management experience and strong communication skills—you'll be working directly with clients and leading cross-functional teams, not just contributing individual technical work.
Olsson offers a competitive 401(k) match, traditional benefits including health care and paid time off, a performance-based bonus system, and tailored career development opportunities. The role is full-time and based in Des Moines, Iowa, requiring in-office presence.
