We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for building, operating, and evolving the infrastructure platform that powers a SaaS product at scale. This role is for a hands-on frontline manager who brings strong technical depth, solid people leadership, and a clear focus on reliability, automation, and customer experience.
You will lead engineers who own cloud infrastructure, platform automation, infrastructure as code, operational readiness, and service reliability. You should be comfortable setting direction, managing execution, improving engineering practices, and staying close enough to the technical details to make sound decisions and remove blockers.
This role is a strong fit for someone with management experience, a customer-first mindset, and a track record of leading infrastructure teams in modern cloud-native environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of infrastructure engineers in a fast-paced SaaS environment
- Manage day-to-day execution, delivery, prioritization, and operational excellence for infrastructure and platform work
- Own team roadmap planning and align infrastructure investments with engineering and business priorities
- Partner with product, engineering, security, support, and operations teams to improve platform reliability, scalability, and customer experience
- Drive adoption of infrastructure as code, GitOps, and automation-first engineering practices
- Improve system availability, resilience, observability, and incident response processes
- Help define and maintain on-call expectations, operational readiness standards, and service ownership practices
- Support continuous improvement across change management, release processes, incident reviews, and root cause analysis
- Stay close to architecture and implementation details, providing technical guidance and direction when needed
- Hire and retain strong engineering talent while building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of people management experience leading technical teams
- Strong technical background in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, site reliability, or related disciplines
- Experience operating production workloads in AWS and Datacenters
- Practical experience with GitOps workflows and tools
- Strong hands-on experience with automation and infrastructure as code practices
- Experience building and improving automation for infrastructure provisioning, deployment, operations, and support
- Experience creating and managing engineering roadmaps, balancing strategic work with operational priorities
- Understanding of customer experience in a SaaS product environment and how infrastructure decisions impact availability, performance, and trust
- Experience supporting or leading on-call rotations and production incident management
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across engineering and business stakeholders
- Ability to mentor engineers, drive execution, and lead through ambiguity
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading Infrastructure Engineers, SRE, or DevOps teams supporting multi-service or distributed systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and operational metrics
- Experience with reliability engineering, capacity planning, and service performance optimization
- Exposure to security, compliance, and governance requirements in cloud environments
- Experience scaling teams, improving engineering processes, and driving maturity in operational practices
Leadership Expectations
- Lead with accountability, clarity, and a bias for action
- Build a healthy team culture grounded in ownership, trust, and high standards
- Translate business needs into practical infrastructure priorities and execution plans
- Balance short-term operational demands with longer-term platform improvements
- Keep customer impact at the center of technical and operational decisions
Success in This Role
In this role, success looks like building a strong infrastructure engineering team, improving reliability and operational efficiency, advancing automation and GitOps maturity, and delivering a roadmap that supports product growth while improving the customer experience.
