We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician to specialize in the retrofitting, wiring harness, maintenance, repair, and enhancement of autonomous vehicles. This role is essential for the smooth operation and innovation of our operational fleet.
Responsibilities
- Retrofit heavy duty trucks with autonomous driving systems including but not limited to fabrication, cable routing and connection, subassembly, assembly, installation, sealing, setup, software / firmware upgrade, inspection, testing and validation…etc.
- Conduct detailed inspections, routine and preventative maintenance of vehicle systems, such as chassis, suspension, brakes, steering, throttle and autonomous systems.
- Diagnose and repair quality issues related to autonomous vehicles like sensor installation, cable connections, cleaning, leakage, and alignments.
- Perform modification and replacement for aftermarket autonomous vehicles.
- Manage tools, jigs, non-inventory items and other mateials as assigned.
Requirements
- In-house manufacturing and quality assurance experience in assembly, installation, cable routing, metal fabrication, soldering and others, preferably in the auto or truck industry.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting vehicle systems.
- Capable of reading blue prints, wiring diagrams, SOPs and BOMs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in automotive mechanics, electrical and electronics, with specific skills in advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) is preferred.
- ASE Certification, CVSA Inspection certification or relevant technical certification in automotive mechanics, with a focus on emerging technologies is preferred.

Location: Greater Houston, TX
Hours: 10am-6pm (willing to work flexible hours when needed).

Bot Auto is building autonomous trucking systems to address supply chain challenges, and this Engineering Technician role sits at the heart of that work—retrofitting heavy-duty trucks with autonomous driving technology and keeping the operational fleet running smoothly. You'd handle the full spectrum of vehicle modification: fabricating and routing wiring harnesses, assembling and installing autonomous components, performing software upgrades, and conducting rigorous testing and validation. Beyond new builds, you'd also diagnose and repair issues across chassis, suspension, braking, steering, and sensor systems, troubleshooting everything from cable connections to alignment problems.
The role demands hands-on manufacturing experience in assembly, installation, cable routing, metal fabrication, and soldering—ideally from automotive or truck backgrounds. You'll need to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation fluently, and work confidently with diagnostic tools and software. Experience with automotive electrical systems and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) is valued, as is relevant certification like ASE or CVSA. The position is based in Greater Houston with standard hours of 10am–6pm, occasional flexibility, and minimal travel under 10 percent.
This is a hands-on technical role suited to someone with solid manufacturing fundamentals who's ready to work on cutting-edge autonomous vehicle technology rather than conventional trucks.
