About this role
Vercel is hiring a Head of Field Engineering Operations to build the operational infrastructure that scales their Solutions Architects, Developer Success Engineers, Customer Success Engineers, Technical Account Managers, and Professional Services teams. You'd own capacity planning, territory design, lifecycle management, and performance measurement across a multi-region organization, reporting to the Head of Revenue Operations from their San Francisco office (hybrid with anchor days Monday, Tuesday, Friday). This is a leadership role where you'd build and develop a team while architecting the systems and processes that enable field engineering to operate at speed and deliver measurable customer impact.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in operations or technical program leadership at high-growth SaaS companies, with at least 3 years building and leading teams. You need hands-on experience scaling operational frameworks for pre-sales and post-sales technical teams, deep Salesforce expertise, and a track record designing territory planning and capacity models for field organizations at $100M+ ARR. The role demands someone who thinks in systems, can identify operational leverage points, and translates ambiguous priorities into executable plans that drive cross-functional accountability.
Experience in developer tools, infrastructure, or PLG-plus-enterprise motions is a plus, as is familiarity with post-sales lifecycle management, consumption-based pricing, and modern automation tooling. The compensation package includes $260,000–$300,000 base salary (San Francisco), equity, healthcare, flexible time off, and professional development support.
