About this role

Hawthorne Cat's Waipahu service facility is seeking a Tech 3 to perform skilled diagnostic and repair work on construction and power generation equipment. Reporting to the Service Manager with substantial independence, you'll handle engine rebuilding and diagnostics, powertrain component repair and testing, and hydraulic system work across the full range of equipment the company sells and rents. The role demands precision—you'll need to meet flat-rate standards while troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues on site and in the shop.

This is a hands-on position requiring at least eight years of relevant experience, a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and your own hand tools. You'll be forklift certified or able to obtain that certification within 60 days. The work is physically demanding: frequent lifting up to 60 pounds, extended time in prone positions under equipment, climbing, and exposure to noise, temperature variations, fumes, and harsh substances. This temporary, in-office role in Hawaii offers competitive hourly pay of $51.13 plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and boot reimbursement.
