About this role
GeoTek Operations Limited, a geotechnical and construction materials testing firm with offices across the Southwest, is seeking field technicians for its Albuquerque office. This role involves performing concrete sampling, field testing, and site inspections on active construction projects. You'll operate testing equipment, collect samples, conduct assessments, document findings, and report data back to supervisors and clients. The work is hands-on and outdoor-focused, requiring you to transport and set up equipment like wheelbarrows and testing apparatus at job sites.
To succeed in this position, you'll need an ACI Field certification as a baseline requirement, with additional certifications (such as TTCP) strengthening your candidacy. You must have a valid driver's license and your own vehicle—a truck, van, or SUV—which GeoTek reimburses you for using. The role demands physical capability to work in variable weather, confined spaces, and at heights, plus solid manual dexterity and vision. Beyond technical competence, the job calls for clear communication with supervisors and dispatch, reliable documentation of daily work and test results, and the ability to maintain professional relationships with clients and contractors on site.
Compensation ranges from $23 to $32 per hour depending on your certifications and experience level, with vehicle and gas reimbursement included. This is an in-office, field-based position suited to someone with construction testing credentials who is comfortable working independently outdoors and managing their own equipment and scheduling.
