About this role

Fairstead, a national affordable housing developer and operator, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its Cleveland property portfolio. You would handle the full spectrum of day-to-day maintenance work—inspecting buildings and equipment, performing preventative maintenance and repairs, managing electrical systems and safety devices, and preparing units for new residents. The role includes on-call emergency response outside standard hours, so flexibility is essential. You'll also maintain inventory of tools and supplies while ensuring properties meet safety and regulatory standards.

The position calls for hands-on mechanical and electrical knowledge, with prior service technician or maintenance experience required. HVAC, CMRP, or equivalent certification is preferred. You'll need the physical capacity to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds, along with solid communication skills to document and report on maintenance activities. This is a full-time, in-office role in Cleveland with a $2,500 signing bonus.

Fairstead offers a solid benefits package including employer-paid medical and vision insurance, a 401(k) match (100% of the first 3%, 50% of the next 2%), 12+ paid holidays, 15 PTO days, 7 sick days, life and disability insurance, and perks like pet insurance and employee discounts. This role suits someone with maintenance experience who wants stable, full-time work with a company focused on mission-driven affordable housing operations.
