- Own frontend development for core dashboard workflows, with a focus on usability, performance, accessibility, and reliability.

- Collaborate with backend engineers and adjacent teams to define APIs, data models, and contracts that power interactive and scalable dashboard experiences.
What We Look For
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong experience building both frontend and backend systems.
- Expertise in modern frontend development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React, or similar frameworks.
- Deep understanding of UX principles, accessibility, and responsive design for data-heavy interfaces.
- Experience designing scalable systems and abstractions that support interactive, high-performance product experiences.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and deliver impactful user-facing features.
- Experience building dashboards, analytics, data exploration, authoring tools, or business intelligence products is a plus.
- Familiarity with SQL authoring, custom calculations, semantic modeling, or related analytical workflows is a plus.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Kubernetes is preferred.

About this role
Databricks is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to own the dashboard experience on their Data Intelligence Platform—the interface through which thousands of organizations explore and share data insights. You'd design and build the full stack of dashboard creation, editing, and exploration features, partnering with designers and product managers to translate complex analytical workflows into intuitive, performant interfaces. This role bridges frontend and backend concerns, meaning you'll help define APIs and data models alongside implementing polished React-based UX, with particular focus on accessibility, responsiveness, and handling data at scale.
The position requires five or more years of software engineering experience with demonstrated strength in both frontend and backend development. You should be fluent in modern frontend tools—HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React or equivalent—and have a solid grasp of UX principles and responsive design for data-heavy interfaces. Prior experience building dashboards, analytics platforms, or BI tools is valued, as is familiarity with SQL, semantic modeling, or cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. The role is based in Vancouver and requires in-office work, with compensation ranging from $146,200 to $201,100 CAD.
