About this role

Swaybox Studios is bringing together a high-profile creative team for a major animated project with DC Studios and director Matt Reeves, and they're looking for a Compositing Supervisor who can lead both the artistic and technical sides of their VFX pipeline. You'd be responsible for overseeing the integration of practical and CG elements—environments, props, vehicles, and effects—while maintaining visual consistency across photorealistic and stylized work. This means managing a compositing team, mentoring artists, troubleshooting technical challenges, and translating creative direction from leadership into executable shots, all while balancing quality with production schedules.

The role demands deep expertise in Nuke, OCIO/ACES color management, and advanced compositing techniques, along with seven or more years of high-end film or episodic compositing experience. You'll need proven supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work hands-on when needed. Beyond core compositing knowledge, you should be comfortable with DMP and CG pipelines, lidar scans, HDRI data, and have a solid grasp of cinematography and color science. Python scripting, KeenTools, and pipeline tool development experience are valuable additions.

This is an in-office position based in New Orleans, suited for someone who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments and wants to contribute to a high-profile production while building and supporting a compositing team.
