About this role

iCapital's Platform Infrastructure team is seeking a senior architect to shape the technical standards underlying their global cloud infrastructure. In this Vice President role, you'll own the evolution of Kubernetes platforms, cloud networking, edge services, and API access patterns—working as a hands-on individual contributor rather than a manager. The position balances strategic architecture work with regular validation through proof-of-concepts and reference implementations, ensuring your designs are both sound and operationally practical across multiple regions and teams.

You'll need 8+ years in platform or infrastructure engineering with demonstrated architectural responsibility, strong production experience operating Kubernetes on AWS, and the ability to design complex cloud networking and edge architectures. The role demands skill in translating technical complexity into clear standards and documentation that Platform Infrastructure engineers and application teams can understand and adopt. Success requires comfort influencing across multiple teams as a senior individual contributor, paired with communication skills that work equally well with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

The position is based in Salt Lake City with in-office presence Monday through Thursday, offering a salary range of $130,000 to $160,000 plus equity, performance bonus, matched retirement, and comprehensive healthcare coverage including dental, vision, and mental health support.
