About this role

Sony Pictures Imageworks' Vancouver studio is looking for a compositor with solid production experience to join their in-office team on a project basis. You'd be assembling rendered animation, visual effects, live action, and graphics into final composite images—layering foreground, mid-ground, and background elements to extend environments, integrate characters, and create seamless transitions between filmed and digital content. The work ranges from straightforward to moderately complex shots, and you'll need to meet productivity targets while maintaining art direction standards.

This role requires at least three years of progressively complex compositing experience in production or feature film work, with demonstrated proficiency in Nuke and the ability to handle multiple shot types. You'll need to submit a demo reel that showcases both your technical skill and artistic sensibility specific to compositing. The position offers a salary range of $45.07 to $63.10 per hour depending on your background and qualifications, along with standard benefits including healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSPs, and paid leave.
