Sr. Estimator provides support for single large projects or multiple smaller projects. Primary duties include participation in bid efforts and providing administrative support to the estimating department. The Estimator is expected to be competent in basic estimating tasks and is developing an understanding of more advanced estimating principles including conceptual estimating, project logistics, and indirect costs.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of Estimates:
- Develop and fundamental understanding of layout plans, process and procedures and construction environments.
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates with direct guidance from management staff.
- Provide ancillary support to preconstruction effort such as document control, correspondence internal/external, material research etc.
- Cost Analysis:
- Conduct quantity take-offs and build a foundational understanding systems takeoff with oversight from management personnel.
- Training and understanding of cost model processes, outreach and validation
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate with preconstruction, operational and opportunity stakeholders.
- Bid Management:
- Assist in preparation and submit comprehensive bid packages in a timely and accurate manner.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Engage in training, site walks and all opportunities and tasks assigned by Chief Estimators.
- Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in cost estimating and construction methods.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the estimating process.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in construction estimating, with a proven track record of successful project estimates.
- Experience in industrial projects is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, Excel, Word, Sage Estimating).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

About this role
Corbins, part of the Nox Group enterprise, is seeking an Estimator to support its preconstruction efforts on industrial construction projects across data centers, manufacturing, semiconductor, and water/wastewater treatment facilities. This is an in-office role in Phoenix where you'll work on bid efforts ranging from single large projects to multiple smaller assignments, developing your estimating skills under the guidance of experienced management. The position offers hands-on exposure to the full estimating process—from reviewing plans and specifications to conducting quantity take-offs, analyzing costs, and preparing bid packages—while building foundational knowledge in conceptual estimating, project logistics, and indirect costs.
You should have 1–3 years of construction estimating experience, ideally with industrial projects, and proficiency in standard software like Accubid, Bluebeam, Excel, and Sage Estimating. Strong analytical and mathematical abilities, attention to detail, and solid communication skills are essential. The role expects you to work both independently and collaboratively with preconstruction, operations, and other stakeholders, while staying engaged with training, site walks, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to drug testing and background checks.
