About this role

Achievement First is hiring occupational therapists for the 2026-27 school year across multiple Rhode Island and Texas locations. This role centers on delivering evidence-based interventions to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally within the school environment. You'll spend roughly 70% of your time providing direct therapeutic services—conducting evaluations, developing intervention plans, and facilitating student participation in occupational performance. The remaining time splits between stakeholder management (case conferences, IEP meetings, staff training) and broader school engagement (staff meetings, field trips, parent events, student recruitment).

You'll report to the student support campus director and collaborate closely with school leaders, special education teams, and families. The role requires a bachelor's degree and completion of an accredited occupational therapy program with fieldwork; two years of OT experience—ideally in schools or pediatric settings—is preferred. This position suits candidates committed to working in under-resourced communities and comfortable being active members of a school staff beyond direct service delivery.

Achievement First offers competitive salary scaled to experience and education, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, a 403(b) retirement plan with match, and paid family leave. Spanish language skills are a plus.
