About this role

Armstrong Transport Group is seeking a Capacity Sales Representative to build and maintain carrier relationships that secure reliable freight capacity across their network. In this role, you'll source capacity, negotiate rates with carriers, and work alongside Account Executives and agents to solve coverage challenges while protecting margins and meeting monthly load-volume goals. You'll use market knowledge, carrier data, and technology to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment where problem-solving and relationship management directly impact business growth.

This position suits someone with at least two years of experience in carrier sales, brokerage operations, or transportation roles—someone who understands freight markets, pricing, and carrier operations well enough to negotiate effectively. You'll need strong communication and negotiation skills, the ability to manage high volume and competing priorities, and a resilience that lets you stay resourceful when capacity becomes difficult to secure. Armstrong values competitive, results-driven professionals who are proactive and relationship-focused.

The role is based in Charlotte and offers a performance-based commission structure that rewards production, along with standard benefits including medical, dental, vision, PTO, disability coverage, and a 401(k) with up to 3.5% company match. You'll work within an established national platform supporting over 150 independent agent offices, backed by technology and a broad freight network.
