Instructional ELA Coach-Grades 6-12_(2026-2027)

INSTRUCTIONAL ELA COACH 

Position Summary:

Achievers Early College Prep is excited to grow a team of teachers who are committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction through collaboration.  An ELA (English Language Arts) Instructional Coach will partner with teachers and school leaders to improve literacy instruction, analyze student data, and elevate classroom engagement. 

Performance Expectations:

• Conduct classroom observations, model effective literacy lessons, co-plan units, and provide actionable, real-time feedback.
• Design and lead high-quality workshops, training sessions, and professional learning communities (PLCs) focused on ELA standards and adult learning theories.
• Help teachers examine student work and literacy data to differentiate instruction, track progress, and target intervention needs. 
• Ensure research-based, standards-aligned ELA and humanities curricula are implemented consistently across grade levels. 
• Ability to build trust, motivate adult learners, and foster a collaborative school culture. 
• Strong time-management skills to balance scheduling, observations, data reviews, and meetings 
• Clear, empathetic verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and families. 

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred
• 3+ years working in classrooms and coaching teachers, preferably in urban schools and/or communities, with a proven record of successful classroom literacy.
• Demonstrated history of collaboration- building trust with staff. 
• Adept interpersonal and communication skills with diverse audiences 
• Familiarity with Google Classroom and virtual meeting platforms
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
• Valid NJ Teacher Certification (CE, CEAS or Standard), preferably with an endorsement or specialization in ELA, English or Reading.

Achievers Early College Prep Charter School (AECP) is New Jersey’s first public charter school for students in middle school and high school that provides them with the unique opportunity to pursue one of four STEAM pathways (Health Sciences, Digital Media, Audio Engineering and Cisco Computer Networking).
