Position Summary

Feldkamp Mechanical is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HVAC Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team. This position is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and preparing sheet metal components used in commercial and industrial HVAC systems. The ideal candidate has experience interpreting shop drawings, operating fabrication equipment, and producing high-quality ductwork and custom fittings that meet project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate HVAC ductwork, fittings, plenums, and specialty sheet metal components according to shop drawings and specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and production schedules.
  • Operate fabrication equipment including shears, brakes, rollers, presses, plasma tables, and other sheet metal machinery.
  • Measure, cut, bend, form, and assemble sheet metal products accurately.
  • Inspect fabricated components for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, shop supervisors, and field installation teams to ensure timely project completion.
  • Assist with material handling, inventory management, and loading completed products for delivery.
  • Perform routine maintenance and care of fabrication tools and equipment.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication, HVAC manufacturing, or a related trade.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency using measuring tools and fabrication equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Preferred

  • Experience fabricating commercial HVAC duct systems.
  • Knowledge of SMACNA standards.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Trade school or apprenticeship training in sheet metal fabrication.
