Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN

AAC Midwest is expanding, and we are looking for a motivated and engaged individual to join our team as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Gurnee, IL.  

We are an office-based anesthesia practice that provides a comprehensive peri-operative solution for physicians, surgeons, and dentists, allowing them to perform procedures in their offices. Our anesthesiology team provides the personnel, equipment and supplies necessary to allow our services to be provided within an office setting. What You'll Do. 

• Start peripheral IVs independently on adult and pediatric patients. 

• Obtain and document pre-operative vital signs, blood glucose, and other required pre-procedure screening information. 

• Monitor patients before and after their procedure, and recognize and escalate changes in condition to the anesthesia provider. 

• Assist with emergency response as directed by the anesthesia provider. 

• Support room setup, supply readiness, and turnover between cases. 

Schedule: 3 days/week. This position requires travel between client office locations within the Gurnee, IL area. 

Position Requirements: 

• Current Illinois Licensed Practical Nurse license in good standing. 

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program. 

• 5+ years of LPN experience in a procedural, surgical, ambulatory, or acute care setting. 

• Demonstrated competency in peripheral IV insertion, with recent and regular hands-on practice. 

• Experience caring for both pediatric and adult patients preferred. 

• Able to communicate clearly and accurately with patients, providers, and clients, including the use of medical terminology. 

• Active BLS certification is required at the time of hire, with the condition that ACLS certification must be successfully completed within six months of employment. 

• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for travel between office locations.
