ABOUT THE FRONT OFFICE

Turning opportunities into solutions – that’s the specialty of STX’s Front Office. Our team works across various domains, including electricity, renewable gas, carbon offsets, biofuels and energy efficiency. We engage with clients in different markets and countries on a daily basis, and it’s our job to understand their needs and translate them into effective, efficient solutions. To maintain STX’s position as market leader in the fast-changing environmental commodities field, we are continuously capitalizing on new opportunities and optimizing our offering.

ABOUT THE TEAM & ROLE

The Business Development team identifies and develops new commercial opportunities across biofuels, renewable feedstocks, gas, marine fuels, and emerging sustainability markets. Rather than focusing on routine transactions, the team explores complex market opportunities, interprets regulations, and develops innovative solutions that create long-term value. 

As a Junior Business Developer, you will work at the intersection of commercial strategy, market analysis, regulations, and deal execution. You will collaborate closely with teams across Trading, Operations, Sustainability, Legal, and Compliance to turn ideas into viable business opportunities and support projects from concept through implementation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities by monitoring market developments, regulations, and industry trends. 
• Conduct commercial and regulatory research to uncover opportunities and support strategic decision-making. 
• Develop business cases and contribute to the structuring and execution of new commercial initiatives. 
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to progress projects and opportunities. 
• Coordinate with Trading, Operations, Sustainability, Legal, and Compliance teams to bring complex deals and partnerships to life. 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• 2-5 years of experience in a commercial, analytical, technical, regulatory, or project-focused role. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex information into commercial opportunities. 
• Curious, proactive, and comfortable operating in an environment where no two days are the same. 
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions. 
• Interest in energy, sustainability, commodity markets, logistics, trading, engineering, finance, or related industries.
