Working Student - Visual Design

In a nutshell

We are looking for a passionate and creative Visual Designer Working Student to join one of our creative teams at our Amsterdam HQ. Depending on your interests and strengths, you’ll have the opportunity to join either our Design or Branding team, supporting projects such as weekly newsletters, organic and paid social campaigns, app campaigns, and work that shapes and strengthens Picnic’s visual identity.

You’ll collaborate with a powerhouse Creative team of 20+ diverse specialists, including motion designers, videographers, copywriters, and brand designers. Together, you’ll create high-impact work that doesn’t just sit in a folder—our campaigns launch weekly across the Netherlands, France, and Germany, reaching millions of screens.

Note: this is not a UX/UI design job.

Tricks of the trade

• Build engaging campaigns: Work closely with other designers in the creative team to build campaigns that engage our existing/future customers. 
• Weekly visual design work: Create and update email campaigns, social media assets, online ads and campaign visuals for our app
• Develop a design analytical approach: Learn how to adopt an overall analytical approach to design by testing your designs and optimising operational design work

Your superpowers

• You are currently pursuing a study in Visual Design, Graphic Design or similar fields 
• Solid online portfolio showing a keen eye for detail paired with lots of creative flair
• Familiar with Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator) and Figma
• Self-starter with a “roll up your sleeves” attitude
• Eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
• Affinity for illustration and experience with animation are a plus but not a must
• Fluent in English (Dutch, French or German are a plus!)

💰Attractive package

You’ll receive a gross hourly wage of €16.75, along with a laptop to support your work. Travel costs can also be reimbursed, depending on your location.
