System Accountant

System Accountant | South East Melbourne, VIC | Hybrid

We're looking for a finance professional who genuinely enjoys making systems work better. This is a hands on role for someone who wants to shape how a growing organisation uses its ERP, not just maintain it.

About the business

You'll be joining a large, fast growing organisation with a national footprint and a strong focus on community and customer experience. The business is investing seriously in its systems and processes as it continues to scale, with two new system migrations planned over the coming months.

What you'll be doing

• Becoming the go to Finance expert on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, helping teams get the most out of finance modules, workflows and reporting
• Playing a key role in two upcoming system migrations, helping ensure a smooth transition and strong data integrity throughout
• Working closely with Finance and Technology to spot opportunities for improvement and deliver system upgrades that actually make people's jobs easier
• Cutting down manual work, spreadsheets and rework by building smarter, more automated processes
• Improving financial controls and data integrity through better system setup, approvals and master data practices
• Helping build out reporting across Dynamics, Power BI and other tools
• Supporting finance users through change, so new processes actually stick
• Flagging system and process risks early, with practical recommendations to fix them

What you'll bring

• A genuine interest in systems and process improvement within finance
• Comfort with change and ambiguity; you like fixing things, not just flagging them
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities calmly
• Clear communication skills, written and verbal, with the confidence to manage stakeholders at all levels
• A sharp eye for detail and a real commitment to accuracy and governance

Experience and qualifications

• Degree qualified in Accounting
• CA or CPA qualified
• Around 5+ years in accounting, finance systems or finance transformation
• Hands on experience with Dynamics 365, ideally through an implementation or systems maturity project, highly regarded
• Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check
