Quantitative Developer Internship - 2027 [New York]

Quantbot is a leading global quantitative investment firm known for deploying systematic strategies across various asset classes. We operate at the intersection of technology and finance, managing over a petabyte of comprehensive market and historical data to drive our research and trading strategies.

As a Quantitative Developer Intern, you will be embedded within a PM team, working with their experienced developer and researcher to make direct improvements to their trading strategies. This position is ideal for candidates who love building and optimizing system architecture, streamlining research/trading pipelines, and implementing research ideas. 

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with quantitative researchers to understand and implement their technical needs.
• Develop, test, and deploy software applications that facilitate quantitative models and trading strategies.
• Enhance the performance and efficiency of existing code and systems.
• Integrate new data feeds into data processing pipelines and ensure accurate delivery.
• Assist in maintaining and upgrading the computing infrastructure used for the team’s research and trading.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in a STEM field (e.g., computer science, mathematics, electrical engineering). Graduates and students in their penultimate year are encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in at least one compiled language such as C++ (preferred), Rust (a plus)
• Proficiency in Python or another scripting language. 
• Understanding of algorithms and data structures. 
• Interest in low-level performance optimization, networking, and Linux internals.
• Finance knowledge is beneficial but not essential.

Program Details
This 10 to 12-week program runs from June to August, offering training and support with a dedicated mentor. Successful interns may receive full-time job offers.
