About Your Role

Help power the technology behind one of the world's most diversified media, information and services companies. As Automation Engineer (RPA), you'll design and improve intelligent automation solutions that streamline business processes, reduce manual work and enhance the user experience, helping Hearst's businesses operate more efficiently and effectively. 

In this role, you'll join Hearst Corporate's Technology Services team, which develops and supports the technology and platforms that power Hearst's businesses.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify and assess automation opportunities that improve efficiency, quality and user experience. 
  • Design, develop and test automation workflows using UiPath and related technologies, translating business needs into technical requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria. 
  • Integrate automation solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, databases and cloud services to support reliable end-to-end workflows. 
  • Deploy and support RPA components and solutions across environments, including bots, development tools, code repositories and logging tools. 
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production automations, resolving incidents and performance issues to minimize business disruption and maintain reliable operations. 
  • Analyze and improve existing processes and automations, identifying bottlenecks, eliminating unnecessary steps and recommending opportunities for process re-engineering. 
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers and other stakeholders throughout the automation lifecycle, including requirements gathering, functional testing and user acceptance testing. 
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and knowledge resources while staying current on emerging automation and technology capabilities that can improve how Hearst works. 

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Experience developing and supporting RPA solutions across development, pre-production and production environments. 
  • Hands-on experience with UiPath and related automation technologies. 
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear technical requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria. 
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, functional testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and identify opportunities for process improvement. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences and collaborate across functions. 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • UiPath Advanced Developer certification. 
  • Experience integrating automation solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, databases or cloud services. 
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and a desire to identify practical ways to apply them to improve business processes.
