How can I look for a job without my current employer finding out?
Turn on Incognito Mode and blocklist your employer, and any competitor or industry you would rather not be seen by. You stay searchable to everyone else. There is no public "open to work" badge to broadcast, and your activity is only ever visible inside a confirmed mutual match.

Does my résumé affect whether recruiters can find me?
Heavily. Your profile is built from your résumé, so anything the parser cannot read is a signal you are not matched on, and a skill that is not extracted is a search you do not appear in. Running your résumé through the ATS checker first is the cheapest way to find out what is being lost, and the résumé builder will rewrite it into a layout that parses cleanly.
