   1–3 months

   Meet your state's requirements

   PMU is regulated as tattooing in many states — often a body art licence plus bloodborne pathogens training.

   1–2 months

   Complete a fundamentals training

   Reputable microblading or machine training with live models, not a weekend certificate.

3. 3

   3–6 months

   Complete supervised work

   Practise on latex, then models, then paid clients under supervision. Mistakes here are on faces.

   1–2 years

   Build a portfolio and price properly

   Healed results, not fresh photos. Well-known artists charge several hundred per procedure.
