   Learn to read the slab

   Knowing when to float and when to trowel is judgement, not instruction. It takes seasons.

   Add decorative and polished work

   Stamped, stained and polished concrete carry far better margins than flatwork.

   2–4 years

   Run a crew or subcontract

   Finishers who can bid and schedule their own pours earn the most in this trade.
