The route

  1. Apply during an FAA hiring window

    Bids open irregularly and close fast. Under 31 at application for most routes.

  2. Pass the ATSA assessment and medical

    Aptitude battery, plus a strict medical and security clearance.

  3. Complete the FAA Academy

    Oklahoma City, months long, and genuinely washes people out.

  4. Certify at your assigned facility

    You are paid throughout, but you are not fully certified until you check out on position.
