NYC AI Hiring Tools Notice

How we handle automated hiring tools for New York City roles under Local Law 144.

Last updated: August 18, 2026. This notice applies to candidates and employees being considered for jobs located (or to be performed) in New York City.

Current status

JobMinglr does notprovide Match Scores to employers for jobs located in New York City. Recruiters cannot see or rank NYC applicants by an automated score. Because our matching tool is not used to screen or rank candidates for NYC roles, it is not operating as an “automated employment decision tool” (AEDT) for those roles, and an NYC Local Law 144 bias audit is not required at this time.

What This Means

  • For a job located in New York City, employers reviewing applicants do not see a Match Score and cannot sort or rank candidates by one.
  • Employers review NYC applicants without automated fit-scoring; hiring decisions are made by the employer.
  • The Match Score may still be used to recommend jobs to job seekers — showing you roles that fit your profile is not an employment decision made about you by an employer, and is not an AEDT.

Bias Audit — Pending Unless We Enable NYC Scoring

Local Law 144 requires an independent annual bias audit only for an AEDT that is actually used to screen or rank candidates. Because we withhold the employer-facing Match Score for NYC roles, no such use occurs and no audit is currently required.

If we choose to enable employer-facing Match Score features for NYC roles in the future, we will first commission an independent bias audit and publish the summary of results and the distribution date on this page before any such feature goes live. Status: pending — not applicable while NYC scoring is off.

What Is an AEDT?

Under Local Law 144, an AEDT is a computational process — derived from machine learning, statistical modeling, data analytics, or artificial intelligence — that issues a simplified output (such as a score, classification, or recommendation) and is used to substantially assist or replace discretionary decision-making for making employment decisions. Withholding the score from employers for NYC roles is what keeps our tool outside this definition for those roles.

How We Determine Whether a Role Is in NYC

We identify NYC roles from the job's stated location (city and state). This reliably covers roles posted with a New York City location. A role with no location on file — for example, some fully remote or imported postings — may not be automatically identified as NYC. If you are applying for an NYC-based role and believe you were shown or evaluated against an automated score, please contact us so we can review it.

Your Rights and How to Reach Us

If you have questions about how we handle automated tools for a New York City role, want to request information, or believe an NYC role was scored in error, contact us at privacy@jobminglr.comwith the subject line “NYC AEDT”, or write to us at the address below. Should we introduce an AEDT for NYC roles in the future, candidates will receive notice at least 10 business days before it is used, along with the right to request an alternative selection process or a reasonable accommodation.

For Employers Using JobMinglr

For roles located in New York City, JobMinglr does not surface Match Scores or automated candidate ranking in the recruiter product, so no bias audit is required for that use. If you independently use another automated tool to screen candidates for an NYC role, you remain responsible for your own Local Law 144 obligations. This is not legal advice; consult your own counsel.
