MRI / CT Technologist – Veterinary Specialty Imaging Veterinary Surgical Centers (VSC) – Vienna, VA Full Time Bring your MRI or CT experience into veterinary specialty medicine. Veterinary Surgical Centers is looking for an experienced MRI / CT Technologist to join our advanced imaging team in Vienna, Virginia. This is not a traditional veterinary X-ray position.
This role is focused on advanced diagnostic imaging, including MRI and CT , while working alongside specialty veterinarians, neurologists, surgeons, and anesthesia professionals. Coming from human medicine? We want to hear from you.
Veterinary experience is welcome, but it is not required . If you have hands-on MRI or CT experience in human healthcare and are interested in applying your skills in a new and rewarding environment, our team can help you learn the veterinary side of imaging and patient care.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Advanced MRI & CT Imaging Prepare and position veterinary patients for MRI and CT procedures Operate MRI and CT equipment according to established imaging and safety protocols Acquire high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing repeat scans Assist specialists with advanced imaging studies and case preparation Maintain accurate imaging and patient documentation Help coordinate imaging schedules and workflow to support timely patient care Anesthesia & Patient Care Many veterinary MRI and CT patients require sedation or general anesthesia. In this role, you will work closely with our clinical and anesthesia teams to provide safe, attentive patient care throughout the imaging process. You will: Assist with monitoring sedated and anesthetized patients during imaging procedures Recognize changes in patient status and communicate concerns promptly Support safe patient positioning, preparation, recovery, and transport No veterinary anesthesia experience?
Candidates with strong MRI/CT backgrounds may still be considered. We are willing to train the right imaging professional in veterinary-specific patient monitoring and workflows. Safety & Equipment Follow MRI, CT, anesthesia, and radiation safety protocols Maintain a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment Ensure equipment is ready for use and report operational concerns promptly Use appropriate PPE and dosimetry when required Support departmental safety and quality standards WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR You may be a great fit if you have: Hands-on MRI and/or CT experience Experience working as an MRI Technologist, CT Technologist, Radiologic Technologist, or similar imaging professional Strong attention to detail and imaging quality A commitment to patient safety Excellent communication and organizational skills The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced specialty environment The physical ability to safely assist with positioning and moving patients Veterinary experience is preferred — not required.
