POSITION OVERVIEW Urgent Care for Children has been serving patients from birth through age 21 since 2017. With seven UCA-accredited clinics, we are committed to delivering evidence-based pediatric care and ensuring seamless follow-up with primary care providers.
We are seeking a PRN Pediatrician or Nurse Practitioner to join our compassionate team at our Tuscaloosa, AL clinic. This role is ideal for motivated clinicians who thrive in fast-paced settings, love working with kids, and want to make a meaningful impact in pediatric care.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
: As an Pediatrician at Urgent Care for Children you will focus on: Acute Pediatric Care: Deliver timely evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for non-emergent pediatric illnesses and injuries. Clinical Decision Making: Apply sound clinical judgment to determine appropriate interventions, diagnostic testing, and follow-up care plans. Family Centered Communication: Clearly and compassionately educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and next steps.
Documentation: Ensure accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of patient encounters in compliance with clinical guidelines and regulatory standards. Collaboration: Serve as a collaborating physician for Advanced Practice Clinicians, providing oversight, guidance, and support in accordance with state regulations and organizational standards. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Education & Certification: MD or DO from an accredited medical school; active Alabama medical license; Board-Certified in Pediatrics or Family Medicine; current CPR and PALS certifications required OR- Active AL APRN licensure and DEA.
Experience & Skills: Minimum 2 years in pediatrics or urgent care preferred. Strong clinical judgment, ability to provide evidence-based care, and comfort managing a wide range of acute pediatric cases. Proficiency with EMR systems and common software tools.
Communication & Teamwork: Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate families and work effectively within a team. Full-Time Schedule & Hours: clinicians work 16 shifts per month. m.
