Job Title: Band 6 Acute Medical Physiotherapist Banding: 6 Location: Leicester Start: ASAP Duration: Ongoing Contract Rate: Competitive (DOE) Working hours: Full Time, Monday – Friday We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Acute Medical Physiotherapist to join a busy and supportive acute hospital team in Leicester. This locum opportunity offers an immediate start and an ongoing contract, providing the chance to work within a fast-paced acute medical setting, supporting patients with complex needs and helping to facilitate safe and effective discharge planning.
Responsibilities
be: As a Band 6 Acute Medical Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and managing patients across acute medical wards. You will deliver evidence-based physiotherapy interventions aimed at improving mobility, respiratory function, and overall independence. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, and discharge coordinators, to ensure patients receive coordinated and patient-centred care.
Your role will also involve undertaking comprehensive assessments, developing personalised treatment plans, maintaining accurate clinical records, and contributing to discharge planning to support timely patient flow throughout the hospital.
Qualifications
and Experience: Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification Current HCPC registration Previous experience working as a Band 6 Physiotherapist or equivalent Recent NHS experience within an acute medical setting Experience managing a varied acute caseload Strong assessment, treatment planning, and clinical reasoning skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care Enhanced DBS on the update service is desirable Why work with Pulse?
