What You'Ll Do
: The Supervisor, Behavioral Health Specialist oversees the work and supervision of assigned Behavioral Health Specialist staff.

Responsibilities (75-80%)
include performing all regularly assigned Behavioral Health Specialist duties. The Supervisor, BHS actively collaborates with the Charge Nurse and other members of the shift to ensure the unit runs safely and efficiently. Supports other clinical leadership and directs, supervises, and evaluates work of assigned Behavioral Health Specialist staff.
Participates in interview and selection of Behavioral Health Specialists applicants. Responsible for onboarding and training of new hires under their supervision, including completion of the 90-day Competency Checklists. Maintains adequate staffing of assigned team to ensure an accurate schedule and proper staff to patient ratios.
Partners with Management and other BHS supervisors as needed to ensure staffing is adjusted accordingly to meet business and staffing needs and increases staffing as necessary during high census times or cover PTO and decreases staffing as needed during low census times. Limits overtime as much as possible through use of Pool staff. Reviews and manages assigned staff timesheets to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state and company laws, policies, and guidelines.
Responsible for oversight of BHS staff on assigned shift. Trains assigned Behavioral Health Specialists with a focus on maintaining a therapeutic milieu and utilization of de-escalation skills, seclusion/restraint, and safe clinch.
