24 (FTE £24,584 to £26,812) per annum Job Type: Full-time (35 hours per week), Permanent Please note, this is a 40 week term-time only position. We are seeking a passionate and creative individual to deliver an engaging and inclusive extra-curricular sports and activities programme for students across the College. Working with Students' Union representatives, college staff and external partners, the post holder will support the delivery of high-quality, student-led enrichment opportunities that enhance the student experience, promote wellbeing and encourage active participation.
The role will involve developing and coordinating a range of sports, recreational and enrichment activities, supporting student clubs and teams, and ensuring students are at the heart of planning and delivery. The post holder will also promote participation across diverse student groups, build effective partnerships with external organisations, and contribute to the evaluation of activities and events through regular student feedback to continuously improve the quality and impact of provision. Contribute fully to the mission, values and strategic objectives of the College, ensuring their effective implementation in all aspects of College life.
Support the Students' Union in developing, coordinating and delivering an exciting, inclusive and innovative programme of extra-curricular sports, recreational and enrichment activities. Plan, organise and deliver high-quality sports and activity sessions across all College sites, adapting provision to meet the needs and interests of individual students and groups. Promote student participation and engagement in sports, enrichment activities, clubs, societies and wider Students' Union initiatives.
Ensure that students are at the heart of all activities by supporting student-led planning, delivery and evaluation of programmes and events. Review and evaluate sports and enrichment activities, gathering and analysing student feedback to measure impact and identify areas for improvement. Supervise gym and fitness sessions independently, ensuring safe and effective use of equipment and facilities.
Support the delivery of Students' Union, student engagement, enrichment events, campaigns, competitions, trips and residential activities. Complete all relevant Health and Safety documentation, including PAR-Q forms, risk assessments and activity records, in line with College policies and procedures. Act as a positive role model, promoting professionalism, respect, inclusion and active participation amongst students.
Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
Requirements
Transport students to and from training sessions, competitions, events and enrichment activities where required and authorised. Develop and maintain partnerships with external organisations, community groups and sports providers to enhance opportunities and progression pathways for students. Contribute to the development of funding bids and funding applications to support sports, enrichment and student engagement initiatives.
Create purposeful, motivating and inclusive environments where students feel safe, supported, confident and valued. Establish and maintain clear expectations with students that promote positive behaviour, effective communication, respect for others and challenge discriminatory behaviour and attitudes. Continuously evaluate and improve communication skills to maximise effectiveness and overcome barriers to engagement.
Complete all administrative tasks associated with the role, including registers, participation records, monitoring reports and evaluation documentation.
