Job Summary MedTrainer is seeking a qualified ACLS Medical Director to provide clinical oversight and guidance for our Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) education program. The Medical Director will be responsible for ensuring that all ACLS course content, instructional materials, and educational activities align with current American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines and ACLS standards.
The ideal candidate will be a licensed MD or DO with expertise in emergency cardiovascular care, resuscitation science, critical care, emergency medicine, cardiology, or a related specialty. Candidates should have current clinical experience and a strong understanding of evidence-based practices in the management of cardiac arrest, acute coronary syndromes, stroke, and other cardiovascular emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
: Program Oversight: Review and approve all CE activities offered by MedTrainer for EMS professionals. This includes evaluating objectives, instructional personnel, and evaluation tools to ensure compliance with CAPCE standards. Ensure all medical content meets current standards of practice and is accurate, evidence-based, and relevant to EMS professionals.
Medical Guidance and Support: Provide expert clarification on medical issues related to the CE program. Assist in developing participant outcome recommendations based on program evaluations and participant feedback. Program Evaluation: Collaborate with the program committee to enhance educational content and participant engagement.
Active Committee Participation: Actively participate in the program committee, contributing medical expertise and guidance to ensure the continuous improvement of CE offerings.
Requirements
Maintain a visible presence as the Medical Director on the CE provider's website, per CAPCE guidelines. Verify and uphold a current agreement with MedTrainer to provide ongoing guidance to the CAPCE program committee.
Qualifications
: Education and Licensure: Must be a currently licensed MD or DO. Experience: Must be currently active in the delivery of EMS or have significant recent (within the last three years) EMS delivery experience. This experience may include: Board certification in EMS or as an emergency physician.
Experience as an EMS physician or as the medical director for an ambulance service. Experience in EMS research, education, or administration. Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of EMS systems and the educational needs of EMS professionals.
Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and healthcare professionals. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
