About The Role
Kizen is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Writer with a strong background in InsurTech or insurance operations to create high-quality developer and user-facing documentation for our insurance product suite, including Commissions Copilot, Contracting, and AgentCRM. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on execution. You will work directly with Product Owners, Engineers, and Solution Architects to translate complex technical concepts into clear, usable documentation that improves the customer experience.
This role is ideal for a writer who thrives in highly technical environments, understands the insurance industry, solutioning and developer workflows, and takes pride in producing precise, structured documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Apply working knowledge of insurance distribution workflows (producer contracting, commissions, hierarchy structures, carrier credentialing) to produce documentation that is accurate, contextually relevant, and useful to insurance-industry end users and developers. Collaborate with the Insurance Product Owner and Solutions team to document vertical-specific features, data models, and integration patterns unique to the insurance space. json).
Partner with engineering teams to document new software features, API endpoints, data models, and error handling. Own documentation quality, clarity, accuracy, and usability. Contribute to documentation architecture, organization, and navigation to support a strong developer experience.
Operate within a Docs-as-Code environment using Git-based workflows. Interview subject matter experts and independently gather technical details. Manage documentation projects from intake through publication.
Continuously improve documentation based on product changes and developer needs.
Requirements
Insurance Background. You should have an understanding of the insurance industry, including familiarity with concepts such as contracting, commissions management, FMOs/IMOs, carrier relationships, or insurance distribution workflows. Technical Acumen .
