Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health Safety leader to oversee EHS initiatives across multiple regions and project sites within construction and MEP operations. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, enhancing safety performance, and fostering a culture focused on risk reduction and continuous improvement.
This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on involvement and requires up to 60% nationwide travel.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership Culture Provide direction and mentorship to EHS Managers, Coordinators, and field personnel across multiple regions Drive a proactive safety culture focused on accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement Serve as the primary EHS resource for regional leadership and project teams Program Management Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures Ensure consistent application of safety plans, hazard assessments, and risk mitigation strategies across all projects Oversee safety planning for MEP and industrial construction activities Regulatory Compliance Monitor compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and client-specific
Requirements
Conduct audits, inspections, and compliance reviews; ensure timely resolution of findings Manage regulatory documentation, including OSHA logs, environmental reporting, and compliance records Incident Management Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses Implement corrective actions and ensure lessons learned are communicated across teams Track safety metrics and KPIs to drive performance improvements Training Development Oversee safety training programs to ensure workforce competency and compliance Mentor EHS staff and support their professional development Promote certification attainment and continuing education Contractor Oversight Evaluate subcontractor safety performance and ensure compliance with company standards Review safety plans, training records, and prequalification documentation Enforce accountability across multi-employer job sites Reporting Strategy Prepare performance reports, dashboards, and metrics for executive leadership Support strategic planning and budgeting efforts related to EHS initiatives Serve as a liaison with clients, regulators, and external auditors Risk Management Guide risk assessments, hazard analyses, and planning for high-risk activities Ensure safety considerations are integrated into project design, planning, and commissioning
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field 10+ years of progressive EHS experience in construction, industrial, or MEP environme
