What We’Re Looking For
, whether in this role or another. ✨ Let’s give businesses more time for what matters. Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company Join BILL as a Senior Staff Technical Delivery Manager embedded in our Payments and Financial Services engineering org.
This team builds and operates the core infrastructure that moves money for hundreds of thousands of small and midsize businesses: ACH, real-time payments, bank integrations, and the settlement systems that keep every transaction accurate, secure, and on time. It is one of the most critical engineering surfaces at BILL, sitting at the intersection of financial regulation, real-time infrastructure, and product experience. In this role you will serve as the dedicated operational partner to the VP of Engineering for Payments and Financial Services.
The majority of your work is strategic: maintaining a clear picture of org-wide priorities and risks, engaging substantively on technical decisions, and deploying into programs where structured execution determines whether delivery stays on track. The stakeholder surface is wide. Product, finance, compliance, and executive leadership all have a stake in how this org performs, and your job is to make sure the VP always has the context needed to make good calls.
Responsibilities
: Maintain a current, org-wide view of initiatives, priorities, and delivery risks at all times, serving as the VP of Engineering's primary operational partner across the full software development lifecycle. Lead execution on the highest-priority and highest-complexity programs in the org, taking on a heavier coordination and driving role during peak delivery cycles in payments infrastructure, compliance-driven releases, and cross-functional launches. Identify blockers, dependencies, and misalignments before they become delivery risks; escalate with context and a clear recommended path forward.
Partner with engineering leads and architects on technical decisions that carry product, timeline, or organizational implications, building credibility through precision and follow-through. Translate technical progress and delivery risks into clear, actionable communication for product, finance, compliance, and executive audiences. Build and maintain operating cadences including planning cycles, program reviews, and status reporting with a bias toward signal over noise.
Use AI tooling and program management platforms to keep operational overhead lean without losing fidelity on what matters. We'd love to chat if you have: 6 or more years in technical program management, software engineering, or a closely related field with demonstrated technical depth and a track record of leading complex, cross-functional programs end to end.
