We are looking for an execution-focused professional to take on the role of Commercial Manager, a critical position designed to strengthen our commercial governance, protect agency profitability, and unlock hidden growth opportunities through proactive contract management.
This role will serve as the vital strategic bridge between the Finance department and our Client Service and Growth teams. Beyond daily financial operations, this role plays a key part in analyzing client contracts, identifying out-of-scope revenue streams, and leading client audits. The ideal candidate will be commercially minded, analytical, and highly collaborative—capable of translating complex contract clauses into actionable operational guidelines while working closely with the Head of Client Teams, Finance Director, and Head of Growth to maximize the agency's commercial potential.
Responsibilities
: Act as the commercial bridge between Finance and Client Service teams, ensuring financial awareness and commercial discipline are integrated into daily agency operations. Conduct comprehensive reviews of client contracts, ensuring all clauses, deliverables, and financial terms are strictly compliant with WPP policies and local market realities. Proactively identify and commercialize out-of-scope revenue streams, monitoring client service delivery against agreed contract scopes to ensure the agency is compensated for all work delivered.
Establish and maintain a local database of commercial terms for each client, creating a single, accurate, and easily accessible source of truth for the entire agency. Lead and coordinate client audits from a commercial and financial perspective, acting as the main point of contact for external auditors and safeguarding the agency's interests. Manage and resolve commercial and financial requests coming from clients’ central procurement and finance teams.
Partner with the Head of Growth to support new business pitches and renewals with robust, competitive pricing models and commercial structures. Perform ad-hoc financial analyses as required by the Finance Director and agency leadership to support strategic business decisions. Analyze client profitability, resource utilization, and over/under-servicing metrics, collaborating with the Head of Client Teams to drive margin improvements.

Without this role, we risk leaving valuable revenue on the table, underperforming on contract compliance, and missing critical margin improvements across our client portfolio.
