Buckner Children and Family Services Community: Fatherhood EFFECT Program (Educating Fathers For Empowering Children Tomorrow) Locati on: Beaumont, TX - Onsite Address: 6358 Phelan Blvd, Beaumont, TX 77706 Job Schedule : Full-Time We are seeking a Fatherhood EFFECT Specialist/Case Manager to join our Fatherhood EFFECT Program. As a Fatherhood EFFECT Specialist/Case Manager , you will Shine H ope as you deliver services based on the 24/7 Dad model including coaching, fatherhood support groups, and individual sessions to eligible fatherhood clients. You will provide sessions that can be implemented in a group setting or in a one-on-one program.
You will also provide fathers with pro-fathering knowledge, attitudes, skills, and information regarding custodial/non-custodial fathers, positively present this program and the need for such programs to the local community, and serve as a resource for program collaboration, the community, and other BCFS programs . What You'Ll Do
: Recruit and engage fathers to receive services and determine father eligibility. Ensure compliance to Fatherhood Effect contract as well as fidelity to 24/7 Dad. Coordinate group as prescribed in the program for the purpose of observing and providing information to fathers or father figures.
Responsibilities
for custodial/non-custodial dads. Provide resource and referral services linking families with community resources and support systems. Utilizing 24/7 Dad curriculum, conduct fatherhood education during a 6-session workshop series (one series every six months) while ensuring fidelity to the model is always maintained.
Establish appropriate relationships with fathers that are based on equality and respect. Work with the fathers to build on the father’s strengths to affect needed change. Model appropriate adult/child interactions to fathers.
Represent Buckner at community events that include but are not limited to conferences, informational meetings, advisory board meetings, and client recruitment events. What you ’ll bring : Requires a basic understanding of a comprehensive field of knowledge normally associated with the attainment of a Bachelor’s degree. Bachelor’s Degree in social services or other related field required.
Prior work experience in education, child health and development, child abuse or neglect, and/or parent education preferred. Prefer work experience specifically related to education and tools related to fatherhood. Knowledge of and/or experience using community resources preferred.
Knowledge and experience with in-home visitation and facilitating support groups preferred. Requires ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under Buckner’s insurance policy. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner.
Requires ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people. Requires ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
