Verkada — New York City NY United States
Who We Are
Verkada is transforming how organizations protect their people and places with an integrated, privacy-sensitive AI-powered platform that includes solutions for video security, access control, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, and visitor management. 8B valuation , more than $1 billion in annualized bookings, and backing from CapitalG, Sequoia Capital, General Catalyst, Felicis Ventures, Next47 and more. Physical AI is one of the most consequential technology shifts of our time, and Verkada is at the center of it.
You can look at all kinds of communities to see our platform’s impact in the world. It's the retailer that uses our agentic AI to deter theft before it happens. The warehouse that uses AI-powered alerts to make sure its team is protected on the floor with proper PPE.
The school that’s alerted to a threat in real-time and triggers a lockdown in seconds, not minutes. We’re rapidly scaling this impact: today, more than 2 million Verkada devices are deployed across 170+ countries.
About This Role
The AV Engineer - East Coast is responsible for delivering an exceptional AV experience as our primary AV presence on the East Coast. You will operate with a high degree of independence, owning the health of the NYC office's conference rooms and executive spaces day to day while deploying as a core member of the install team on major office buildouts across the country. You possess a strong ability to prioritize and organize tasks while working in collaboration with the AV Engineering team and the Workplace Team, and you're comfortable being the only AV resource in the room: making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment, communicating clearly with executives and stakeholders, and staying self-motivated with a positive attitude.
What You'Ll Do
Serve as the primary AV support resource for our East Coast and Central offices, covering room health, troubleshooting, and repair of professional audio systems, video display systems, and video-conferencing solutions. Support regional offices remotely from NYC with periodic on-site visits as needed. Provide white-glove AV support for executive requests and high-visibility meetings (All Hands, leadership meetings, product announcements) in the East Coast region.
Deploy as a core installer on medium and large office buildout projects: rack fabrication, cable termination, device mounting, and final hookup and testing of AV systems, working directly alongside the build lead. Contribute to comprehensive project documentation during builds (as-builts, room records, and configuration notes) so every system is fully captured before handoff to operations. Assist with system commissioning, preventive maintenance, and upgrades of AV hardware across the deployed fleet, with growing ownership of East Coast systems support as the office footprint expands.
Perform daily room sweeps each morning to confirm conference room health and ensure all systems can be used to their full capacity for the day. Provide timezone overlap support for European offices, partnering with regional AV and IT staff on remote troubleshooting. Coordinate on-site with vendors, contractors, and the Workplace Team during projects and day-to-day operations.
What You Bring 4+ years of corporate Audio Visual experience, with significant hands-on installation work. Proven install skills: rack building and dressing, cable pulling and termination (Cat6, audio, video), display/camera/speaker mounting, and reading and interpreting AV drawings and schematics. Experience with video conferencing platforms and hardware (Zoom Rooms, Neat, QSC, DTen, or similar).
Working knowledge of IT networking as it applies to AV systems; Dante or AV-over-IP experience is a plus. Q-SYS experience (design, configuration, or commissioning) is a strong plus.
