Position Overview The Materials Handler position is a non-exempt role responsible for supporting the receiving and shipping of materials, fulfilling orders, and handling the loading and unloading of trucks. This includes receiving, counting, and storing products in the appropriate locations. The duties may involve any combination of tasks, which can be performed independently or with the assistance of other Materials Handlers.
What You'Ll Do
Accurately process orders assigned for shipping that day. Understand and properly use barcode scanners. Unload and locate received material.
Prepare products and pallets for shipment to customers. Safely drive machinery after being certified by Warehouse Manager Maintain warehouse floor and locations for accurate inventory counts. Load shipments on to trailers.
Assist in the housekeeping of the warehouse area. Be able to work on special projects assigned by manager or lead person.
Who You Are
The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb and balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear The employee must constantly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. It is essential that the Materials Handler spends 100% of his/her time in the warehouse performing their duties.
GED or High School Diploma Basic ability to read, write and understand English. Solid ability to follow verbal and written directions. Basic math skills Basic understanding of computers Ability to work in a team environment.
