This apprenticeship provides a strong foundation for a future career in polymer manufacturing, offering opportunities to develop a broad range of technical, operational, and problem-solving skills while gaining hands-on experience with extrusion equipment, quality control, continuous improvement, and health and safety in a supportive manufacturing environment. Learn to operate extrusion and associated production machinery safely and efficiently, producing high-quality products that meet customer specifications. Follow all health and safety procedures, wear the correct PPE, and help maintain a clean, safe, and organised manufacturing environment.
Assist with machine set-ups, product changeovers, and the preparation of materials to keep production running smoothly. Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process, carrying out checks and reporting any defects or equipment issues to the Team Leader or Engineering team. Complete production documentation accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, and manufacturing processes. Work closely with experienced operators and the Technical Team, assisting with product and process trials while developing your understanding of extrusion manufacturing. Take part in regular training and development activities, building your technical knowledge and practical skills throughout the apprenticeship.
