What You'Ll Do
As the on-site Construction Safety Specialist, you'll partner with the General Contractor, subcontractors, and project leadership to promote a safe, compliant, and productive construction environment.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary safety resource for project leadership, contractors, and trade partners. Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, field observations, and hazard assessments. Identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and field engagement. Lead and support Pre-Task Planning (PTPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), permit programs, and incident investigations. Facilitate site orientations, toolbox talks, and task-specific safety training.
Requirements
Monitor high-risk work activities, including electrical safety, fall protection, confined space entry, crane operations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), critical lifts, and hot work. Support contractor compliance, safety observations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate safety reports, inspections, and project documentation.
Required Qualifications
Current OSHA 500 certification (Required). Minimum of 6 years of full-time construction safety experience. Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards.
Experience supporting active commercial, industrial, manufacturing, mission-critical, or data center construction projects. Excellent hazard recognition, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Data center or mission-critical construction experience.
